Are there any day trips from Hakone/ Odawara to Mt. Fuji area (Oshino Hakkai, Chureito Pagoda, Oishi Park etc) ? I see many tours from Tokyo but we will be staying in Hakone for 2 nights and want to spend one day in Hakone, one day in Mt.Fuji and be back to Hakone to take a shinkansen from Odawara to Kyoto the following day. Doing the trip via public transport looks very hectic and time consuming.. There are several transportation options available to travel from Mount Fuji to Kyoto. Here are some of the options: Train: Japan Railways Shinkansen operates a train from Shin-Fuji to Kyoto hourly. The journey takes approximately 2 hours and 32 minutes. Tickets for this train can be purchased at a cost of ¥8500 – ¥12000 .

How to see Mt Fuji from the Shinkansen. You can see Mt Fuji for about 4 minutes, for both from Tokyo to Kyoto/Osaka or Kyoto/Osaka to Tokyo. But the Shinkansen passes on the left side on the tracks, so Kyoto/Osaka to Tokyo is better as there can not be a Shinkansen passing on the other side.. Japan Railways Shinkansen operates a train from Kyōto to Shin-Fuji hourly. Tickets cost $55-80 and the journey takes 2h 33m. Alternatively, Fujikyuko Express Bus operates a vehicle from Kyoto Station to Fuji Station South Gate twice daily. Tickets cost $16-65 and the journey takes 7h 20m.
